Isaac's birthday celebration!

Our birthday boy - Isaac!

It was a simple celebration, but all the well wishes were in the birthday card...

And of course, another important part of the celebration is the birthday prayer~

Though we were not around, yet everyone helped in one way or another to make it happen. Hope you had an enjoyable time, Isaac! =)

September monthly highlight - Tennis

We had a good workout session through playing Tennis and thank God for the wonderful sunny weather that day! =)

Xianglun coached us and i learned quite a bit, cos i am a novice in this sport.

For this time round, i decided to give you a rundown of the roles we all played that day to make it so memorable. ;)

Xianglun - Mr. nice coach. He was really patient with us. Despite the lack of sports cells in some of us, and the overactive sports cells in others. Thanks man! =)

Myself- Ms. Runaway. Mainly cos i left early for a wedding dinner that night.

Andrea - Ms. Runaway 2. Cos she left with me. And add Ms Pro-Badminton cos she likes that better. ;)

Aloysius - Mr. Server. The name says it all.

Ahjie - Ms. Tennis. Again the name says it all.

Louisa + Tiffany - Ms. Beautifully dressed for tennis. They were on the way to service, so didnt bring sports attire. We were wondering how the heels would work out for Tiffany. But we all managed pretty well. =D

Michelle - Ms. Strongarms. Haha. The name says it all, again. Where did the ba-a-ll-ll go-o-o-o?

Selwyn - Mr. Qian Shou Guan Yin. He reaches far.

Valerie - Ms. Slippers. Her white Brazil slippers made a statement.

Of course, the 6 men in a car feat, which was repeated on Sunday. -_-

It was a memorable weekend.

SOT Graduation 2008 + Rev Alex Abraham + Money Not Enough 2 Screening

Hi all, this week we are all privileged to hear from Rev Alex Abraham from Surabaya. He was hear to grace the graduation of the students of the 2008 batch of SOT students! Although he didn't really preach much and shared more of his testimony, there are still some points in which we can learn from him :)

1) God want to meet with people, people however need to meet with God!
->Need vs Want (which is more pressing?)

2) If we proclaim anything in the name of Jesus, it would usually means success. However we must also have the faith to believe in what we believe in for "faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen"

3) It is one thing to know Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, it is another thing altogether to have intimate communion with Him. (Head Knowledge cannot be compared to Heart Knowledge). The only way we can have communion with Him is thru' prayer and fasting.

From Eph3:14-20, it's a prayer for the church; where we can claim on to this promise. I'm really impacted by verse 20 "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us". Miracles will only come when we allow Him to work in us, the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Visions and dreams will come through in this 4 steps
Revelation ---> Inspiration ---> Illumination ---> Reality
Which means that we receive a Rhema from God, and through inspiration from the Holy Spirit, we will be able to see the way how to act upon the vision, for it to turn out to be a reality.

After that we had the individual graduates collect their certs and have the graduation in full swing. Hope that the testimony from the Japanese couples would inspire more of us to join next year's SOT :)

At 2.30pm, a group of us (Audrey, Valerie, Xiang Lun, Michelle, Regina and her Mum, Clara) went to attend the "Money No Enough 2" movie screening. Attendance for the screening was jammed pack, with us barely on time to enter the hall. In Jack Neo's form, there were many instances of satirical cases of the latest Government policies, Hokkien jokes etc, but the main thrust of the movie was on the 3 brothers and their attitudes to their mother, who in spite of everything, still wants the best for them. I'm unashamed to admit that during the movie, I wept uncontrollably at some of the scenes. It not only reminds me that we not only need to honour our parents while they are still alive, but also the unconditional love that the mother had reminds me of how Jesus loves us. After the event, some of the cast came out and there was basically a short summary on their characters and the way they acted. The actress acting as Jack Neo's wife teared as she sang a song that talks about a mother's lament on her life. For all of us, I recommend at least watching the movie once, as it really can impact how you view your parents.

Valerie's 22nd birthday celebration

No cake smashing.
No flying cream.
Just a simple mango cake to celebrate our dear Valerie's 22nd birthday.
=)
I was nice, ok? Haha.
Plus Pastor Kenneth was around, with Regina (literally) behind him when the cake was brought out. Haha.
The mango towel cake decoy plan failed. -_-... But it was a good attempt. Thanks Aloysius for helping out, again. Maybe we should change person the next time, otherwise everyone will know its birthday celebration time when you 'excuse' yourself to prepare the cake. I see arrow flying to... Heheheheh...
Though short and sweet, we definitely will not forget the present from 'heaven'.
Yes, the present literally dropped from 'heaven' i.e. 2nd storey of Aloysius' house, into Sean's hands before it was handed over to the rightful owner.
Hope you had a memorable celebration. I am already looking forward to the next one... ;)

Andrea's 20th Birthday Celeb

The CG celebrated Andrea's birthday last Saturday and it was a fun time. Haha. This time round, we got cupcakes i.e. lesser cream. Still, cream was flying onto our faces that day. Oops. Now the seemingly innocent looking one is not that 'guai' after all? All in the name of good fun. No hard feelings, so let bygones be bygones yea? =)

Thanks all for your 'ge an guan huo' and 'xiu shou pang guan', literally. Haha.

Whose is coming up next? Hehe.

080726 Kayaking @ Pasir Ris

Haha. Super backdated entry on our July highlight!

10 brave souls went into the waters of Pasir Ris Park and executed challenging team activities. 7 went on further, to behold the sight of a tanker ship.

WOW...

Ok ok, that is OVER.

Below is my honest, down-to-earth account of the day.

Well 10 of us went kayaking in July and it was an experience. We all took two persons kayak, apparently to build teamwork. It was good news for me cos i wont be alone. 'Bad' news cos my partner is a playful one. Still he is reliable. Well he got to, when you have your girlfriend 'screaming' behind you. Haha.

Personally, it was my first time and honestly i was freaked out the day before. (Dont believe, as my sister and Sean.) Anyway, i am not a fan of water and water sports, so according to Sean, i have almost zero water confidence. It was a challenge and for us, it was a lot of trust in my partner that he will not capsize me and that things will go on just fine. I mean, it did, except for my early return due to seasick. The night before, i was still remindig myself to take the pill. Haiz. In the end, ours was more of a one person kayak, rather than a two persons thing. Ooops. Officially a free-rider. Hahaha.

The team activities that I took part in were fun, really, though i was gripped by fear too. Thank you all for your support. Thanks Regina for telling me the 'filling' joke, though i heard it, just a few days before, but it did distract me. =) Thanks to the others who accomodated me and helped me along the way to complete the task. It was an achievement possible with you. *Claps*

Hope you all had an enjoyable session. I did. Sorry no photos. Camera lady was still recovering from the whole kayaking episode that she forgot to swip out her camera as usual. :X Still, the view along Pasir Ris waters is really pretty and an experience to be remembered, with or without the photo(s). =)

Great job W138!

080808

080808.
The magical, auspicious number for Beijing this year.

It is the start of Olympic Games 2008.

Honestly, i werent as interested as in the previous year, perhaps it is the buzz, like what regina mentioned, that stirred me up.

Catch the opening ceremony performance if you can. It is choreographed by the famous Chinese director Zhang Yimou. You will recognise it due to the colours and visuals. It was an EYE-OPENER and most of the time, we were like "wow". Haha.

Though the parade of nation was really long and we cheered hard for Malaysia, Singapore and China.

* In fact, as i am typing this, i am watching the repeat telecast on Channel U. Hahaha.

It was a wonderful time of outreach and fellowship. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, though it was draining towards the end. Aiyah, like what Michelle said, old le, cannot stay up anymore. =p

Anyway, back to the memorable night. We also celebrated Samuel and Xianglun's birthday. Haha. It was something we wont forget for a long while. The celebration is codenamed Operation Cake Sabo, with the mastermind being XXXXX (names are withheld for personal safety reasons) and executed by... yours sincerely and of course our boss, shushan. These moments are recorded for achiving by regina. ;) Who, unfortunately became the victim of the two guys' revenge plan. Thank you Lord for Your protection. Thanks Regina for bearing our "burden".

What is a gathering without group pictures? Hehe.

Thanks to all for a wonderful night.

Adios~

Wake Up Angels!

*Trumpet sound*
Wake up, Wake up Angels!
A week's break and how have all the angels been?
Those who have been faithful, hope the rest recharged you.
Those who haven't... Have you been doing some catching up?
Want to thank those angels who have been working consistently, also those who have been putting in the effort to catch up, THANK YOU! You all kept this angel-mortal game going. =) After 3 sessions, we have come to the LAST session of this.
*Phew* for some of you yea?
Well in the last session, the theme is ENCOURAGE.
In the last few cell group meeting, we have been praying for one another, speaking words of wisdom and edification during ministry. And during last weekend's prayer meeting, Pastor Ming taught us how to pray for ourselves too. All these are to build up our spiritual lives and prepare us for the things to come. So this session, let us pray for our mortals, sense their needs and give them a word of encouragement.
We started this wanting to know each other better, thought it will be good to end this positive and meet each others' needs.
Jiayou ba fellow angels, and lmore importantly, not to let this drop, but to continue being in one anothers' lives. =)
Love you all~

May Monthly Highlight - Wealth Mangement by Aloysius

Event: How to better manage your wealth?
Speaker: Aloysius

Event brief: (Perhaps Aloysius can better refine this so that we can all have a better idea on what to expect and inform our friends?)

Know of any friends who would want to find out more about wealth management?
Why not invite them for this sharing session and let us learn about better wealth management in a simple way with Aloysius? Aloysius has been studying on this topic and he is none the best in our cell group to share on this. Let not money lead us, but we lead money and invest it wisely to make it grow for greater blessings. Such a life enriching session, what are you waiting for? Start inviting your friends TODAY!

PS. Keep me and Aloysius updated about your friends! =)

Angel and Mortal Game Part 3

Hiyeeee W138,

Here is the third part to our Angel and Mortal Game!

What are your VISIONS and DREAMS?
Where do you see yourself 3-5 years down the road?
Those who are in school, what do you want to achieve in your school ministry?
Those at work, where do you see yourself in the organisation?
And what do you want to achieve in the kingdom of God?

Do share with your angel and/or mortal and let's keep each other in prayers. Let not the things shared fall to ground but let's work together to make it happen. =)

*As for mortals who havent been receiving anything thus far, let me know! I will hunt your angels for you, if i know who. =)
